Help Fight Medical MisDiagnosis

FIGHTING MISDIAGNOSIS-Why I launched the Make a Dream Come True Foundation

In my Professional Matchmaking line of business, it was only through personal meetings with countless highly intelligent, highly accomplished High-Net worth High ranked executives, and Industry professionals-that I learned firsthand how many struggle with the after math of misdiagnosis. The most common were those diagnosed with Dyslexia and ADHD which through the process of continuing medication led to higher levels of mental illness all the way to schizophrenia.

As a mother of three, a grandmother of four and a great grand mother of two, I  can’t imagine a tender young child struggling through the pain of being an outcast, taunted at school, shamed by teachers,  teased and bullied by their peers and especially when you are in middle or high-school, not being able to find a date could be the point where one gets so isolated and desperate, I hear many come close to committing suicide.

Now there’s those that are orphans which are the reason I launched this Make a Dream Foundation, -because they do not have family or parents for any kind of help or succor. They are classless, inconvenient children born to mothers who have given them up and have no one to reach out to even if they can on their own.

Now there are a few exceptions of individuals who came out of this stigma on their own or with the help of parents and relatives, from Tom Cruise to Keanu Reeves, they have risen to become Super Star Idols, misdiagnosed or ridiculed by classmates -and not fitting in anywhere with anyone- But how can anyone explain the phenomena many of them have become?

For those thousands of orphans, housed in the mental health units of the 534 US County Jails in the USA during the Covid-19, they have no one to help, no one to go home to, no family to depend on even if they are let out. So, what happens to them? Do you know they stay ‘safe’ in the jail systems housed with seriously mentally ill inmates and medicated just like them, most times raped and abused by other inmates.

I was horrified to see them housed on top of each other in racks and living day in and day out, all through the night with the noise of hundreds of inmates- the cacophony in those units that they live with day in, and day out broke my heart!

And then I ask myself, I have myself suffered the consequences of losing my right arm due to misdiagnosis and a faulty surgery that went wrong. What if they never had Dyslexia in the first Place? What if they have been grossly misled with the wrong prognosis and diagnosed with medication for treatments for something they never had? Who is to blame? Who can get them restitution, or help to rectify the wrong and help them survive and succeed on the outside?

As a victim of gross medial misdiagnosis myself, that has severely impeded my capabilities, through my own intensive research through my medical network for a resolution, I found out that more than 40% of health issues were misdiagnosed by unfit or substandard MD’s hired by Primary Care Health Plans.

Not a single MD  bothered to get to the root cause and I don’t see any health plan to find a solution to repair the damage and fix the false system of misdiagnosis.

I launched the Make a Dream Come True Foundation for this very reason- to raise money and sign up a few good people who would make it possible to undo the damage and deep dive into the root cause deeply ingrained in the system of misdiagnoses in the first place.
